Ile aux Bénitiers is a large coral sand island approximately two kilometres long and 500 metres at its widest point and 65 hectares in area. The island itself has very little biodiversity value since it has a highly modified vegetative cover and is used as a coconut plantation. During our cruise to Ile aux Bénitiers island on a spacious catamaran we will make stops so that you will have an opportunity to meet Spinning Dolphin, a very rare species of dolphins that can be often seen in this area, especially in the morning.
The Catamaran departs from La Carangue Centre de Pêche, situated in Black River on the west coast.
Sailing towards Tamarin Bay, where we hope to catch sight of the Dolphins at play.
We then take a leisurely sail in a south westerly direction with the Morne Mountain watching over us. We moor at a coral reef for some snorkelling and swimming and thereafter lunch will be served to you by our friendly crew next to the crystal rock.
You will be able to spend approximately 1 hour discovering Ilot Benitier. There is a tender boat at the disposable of the clients to take them on the island. We then take a relaxing sail back to Black River, where we arrive at approximately 3.45 p.m.
The beauty and tranquillity of the west coast is not to be missed.
